Three celebrated Latinx writers will discuss Mexican and Chicanx views about death, life, ghosts, and spirits, just in time for Halloween. This prestigious panel is hosted by author and host of the Words on a Wire radio podcast, Daniel Chacon, and features the multiple award-winning playwrights, poets, and authors, Denise Chavez and Tim Z. Hernandez.
Denise Chávez, a true child of La Frontera, is a bestselling novelist, playwright, actor, and teacher whose work focuses on the border corridor of southern New Mexico, West Texas, and Northern México.
Tim Z. Hernandez is an award-winning writer, research scholar, and performance artist, whose works have been featured in the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, CNN, C-Span Book TV, Public Radio International, and National Public Radio. He is the author of All the Wall Call you and many other books.
Daniel Chacón is the author of multiple collections of short stories, two novels, and a children’s book forthcoming. His most recent collection Kafka in a Skirt: Stories from the Wall is mostly set on the border between Mexico and the US, where he lives with his family. He is a professor of Creative Writing at the University of Texas, El Paso.
