VIRTUAL: Biblical Reception in Folklores of Africa, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas: Panel Discussion

“The Bible in Folklore Worldwide”, a two-volume, illustrated Handbook, provides readers with original studies of the reception of the Bible in the folklores of different cultures. Contributing scholars from around the world discuss their essays with editor Eric Ziolkowski, Helen H. P. Manson Professor of Bible at Lafayette College. The panelists are: – John T. P. Lai: Professor in the Department of Cultural and Religious Studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Regional focus: biblical reception in folklore of China. – Isabel Mukonyora: Professor of Religion and Theology in the History Department at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY, and Co-Chairperson of the Association for African Study of Religion (AASR) and Editorial Board member of the National Theta Alpha Kappa Honors Society. Regional focus: biblical reception in folklore of Southern, Eastern, and Central Africa. – Herman Tull: Independent Scholar, Princeton, NJ. Regional focus: biblical reception in folklore of India (Southern Asia). – Christal Whelan: Independent scholar based in the Barre, MA. Regional focus: biblical reception in folklore of Japan.
