Bio

The Unbearables are a loose collective of noir humorists, Fusionistas, beer mystics, anarchists, neophobes and passionate debunkers.

They took their philosophy, such as it is, from Hakim Bey’s book TAZ — it stands for Temporary Autonomous Zone. You liberate a public space, do a performance in it, then split before the cops arrive. They would picket the New Yorker denouncing their shitty poetry, read erotic poetry on the Brooklyn Bridge to people going home from work, etc. They have six anthologies out, and a line of books. Most of the folks who will be coming to Easton from NYC have books they published. The Unbearables who have signed up for the trip are:

1) Jim Fleming
2) Carl Watson
3) Bonny Finberg
4) Ron Kolm
5) Amy Barone
6) Eve Packer
7) Sparrow
8) Violet Snow
9) Jill Rapaport
10) Deborah Pintonelli

About "From Somewhere to Nowhere: The End of the American Dream"

Another mammoth anthology by The Unbearables, downtown New York’s “drinking collective with a writing problem,” assaying the decline and fall of the world’s recent foremost superpower, from 9/11 to the rise of the Trumpist “moronarchy.”
